Caroline Webley claimed the £1,000 first prize in the AES sponsored 5 Year Old British Bred Championship on Joan Willetts bred mare Alibi III. The mare is by Hello Oscar. Simon Nicholson came second on the stunning steel grey stallion Marcolas G owned by himself and Paul Coe. Marcolas G was bred by the Gustavii Stud and is by Alme Des Nids out of a Lars Irco International mare. In third place was Derek Morton on Marcus Kirk's Van Dieman by Verdi. In the Greenacres Non-British Bred 5 Year Old Championship Duncan Inglis won on the impressive gelding True Love by Heartbreaker, bought from Holland in the spring. Class sponsor Pennir Cornish came second on the fabulous stallion Je T'Aime Flamenco (Flameco De Semilly-Landetto). With 14 in the jump off Pennie galantly funded prize money down the line for everyone who had jumped a double clear! In third place was Ben Maher on Time Out M (Quick Star-Voltaire). This stallion was graded as Licensed at the AES grading in the spring and Ben is gradually bringing him on saying "he's one for the future".
Ex top level eventer Tim Davies won the Greenvale Six Year Old British Bred title with a good double clear on the skewbald Qusop bred by Tim's father by Pouchka III. In second came Alison Bradley on the stallion Little Tinka by Tinka's Boy out of the Internation mare Florida. Class sponsors Marnie Venables and James Greville of Greenvale Stud kindly added to the winning prize a free covering next season from any of their stallions.
The Horse Deals 6 Year Old Non British Bred Championship was won by Laura Renwick on her French mare Limelight De Breve with William Funnell on Whisper and Keith Doyle on Wokando in joint second place. Laura said she was thrilled with the mare "I'm really hoping to go to Lanaken for the World Breeding Championships, although she isn't British-bred".
Georgie Strutton enjoyed success on Little Lefanie in the Brightwells 7 Year Old Championships. The mare is owned byb Old Lodge Stud and is by Indoctro out of a Damiro mare - interestingly ridden with ease in a snaffle with no martingale!
